PRANJIĆ TO PANATHINAIKOS?

Leeuwarder Courant has reported today that Greek Giants Panathinaikos have offered €7 million for the rights to 27 year old Croatian international Danijel Pranjić.

The former Dinamo Zagreb player has been highly impressive this season and has already scored ten goals in twelve league appearances for Heerenveen. Real Betis, PSV, Ajax, Lyon, Real Madrid and Milan all have scouts in Netherlands to keep a close eye on Danijel.

Since Pranjić renewed his Heerenveen contract last summer through 2012, it remains to be seen how much $$ or €€ it will take to lure Danijel out of Heerenveen. Also, since he hasn't played Champions League football yet this season, Pranjić will be able to play next year if transferred this winter.

he can do alot better than the greek league. Real Madrid, Ac Milan, and Lyon are among the teams scouting him. how the hell did panathinaikos get in the mix?

now is the time he steps into a very competitive league to up his game overall. italy, spain, and french leagues all provide a challenge. i really dont think the greek league can even be compared. he is 27, in his prime. this might have worked 5 years ago when he was still developing. he need to play against the best.

I agree with Ivica. The only time Pranjic would get any love is when he's playing in Champions League. He deserves to be tested in a top 3 league. I would rather he go to a middle-table team in a top 3 than go to Greece. That way he would never ride the pine. Look at Modric, he got off to a slow start but it was at Tottenham. If he went to a Liverpool, Milan, or Real Madrid we wouldn't hear from him for another year.
