With hit post after hit post haunting him recently like he was bitten by the 'bad luck' bug, 22 year-old former Hajduk Split star Nikola Kalinić has finally lifted the weight of the world off his shoulders by scoring his first goal in the English Premiership. Kalinić started for the Blackburn Rovers Wednesday night against Wigan Athletic continuing with his usual ways- hitting the post in the fifth minute with a right footed shot.
With the match tied up at 1-1 in the 76th minute, Kalinić finally broke his bad luck streak with a game-winning header off a corner kick. Kalinić has scored Carling Cup and FA Cup goals this season, but he now has a Premiership goal to his name. We can only pray that he repeats good performances like today's throughout the rest of the season and his English career.
So, has Kalinić finally broke out of his slump or was it just a fluke goal? Prva Generacija, what do you think?

Sivonjic sent on loan Zapresic ... that's harsh in my opinion.
Sivonjic scored 6 in 11 with 3 assists at Dinamo this season.
Dodo scored 4 in 17 at Zapresic.
I can't work out how they concluded Dodo to be better than Sivonjic?
My only reasoning was that God awful miss vs Sibenik.
Other than that...........I can't think of any.

The only thing i can think of with Sivonjic is that Zapresic is one of our feeder clubs and perhaps they needed topping up a little financially so we signed Dodo for that reason and are giving him a little trial in Sivonjic's place.
Barring that miss though i think Sivonjic has done alright. He's not gonna go on to be a world beater by any means, but he's useful.
Transfer period is slow with Croats this winter. All i'm hearing is Vranjes to Genclerbirigli, Leko may go to Espanjol, Ibricic possibly to Blackburn, Tomas maybe to Ankaracugu, Stjepan Poljak may go to Wislaw Krakow but that's about it.
Ibricic though belongs to BiH not Croatia though?
Glad to see Nikola finally starting to resemble the striker many thought he could be. He still has a long way to go, but he looks far more comfortable now. How many arguments did I get into on this site trying to defend this kid.

The transfer market in general has been going at a tortoise pace. Hardly anyone is spending, its been mostly loan moves.
Not a fluke, but he is still trying to find his game in the EPL. Give it some time.

The reason I asked if it was a fluke goal was because the ball appears to go off of Kalinic's shoulder for the goal. I don't think he could have scored the goal if the ball only grazed his head.
I've never seen somebody hit the post so many times. It seems like he's hit one almost every other game, and the look on his face is terrible/priceless every time he hits it. I could only imagine what is going through his head. Anyways, great young player, but obviously still has a lot of work ahead of him to become great.
Curious to see how many people enjoy watching Kalinic or Klasnic more?
sidenote: Even though Cilic lost yesterday, thank God we have another strong up and comer in tennis.
Klasnic is certaintly better right now but Kalinic is much more enjoyable to watch as he is more involved in the game.
